            Our Founder

            Tiffany Benedict Browne

Exuberant, vintage wearing, world-traveling, quirky idea machine and creator/ Chief Inspiration Officer of Historic Indianapolis.com, Tiffany Benedict Browne hated high school history. After spending her formative years in exotic locales such as Exeter and Visalia, California; Schenectady, New York; and summer visits to Indianapolis, Indiana, Tiffany acquired a taste for the cosmopolitan (Grey Goose preferred, if you please). Enduring the following few years living in sleepy hamlets like Barcelona, Spain; London, England; and Los Angeles, California, she learned to love history and all things ‘olde’ with a wonderment that continues to imbue her every day with deeper meaning. The determination to one day own a Queen Anne, coupled with a personal loss, inspired the impetuous decision to relocate to Indianapolis in pursuit of her next adventure.

Before launching “HI”, Browne’s career highlights included: preview audience recruiter for market research of movies; temp secretary at Arista Records; L.A. Metro bus time-table data-entry person; translator; ankle model; usher at the Los Angeles Music Center and (the obligatory) waitressing gig–while pursuing a career in acting. And while she did appear on shows such as Beverly Hills 90210, E.R., The Practice and Men Behaving Badly, she soon realized that anorexia, chest enhancement, gargantuan egos and air kisses weren’t her scene. The glamour of a corporate package that included paid vacations, a company car and lifetime supply of post-it notes, lured her into the world of pharmaceutical sales. Naively believing she was equal parts Wonder Woman and Rosie the Riveter, Tiffany (with mom temporarily in tow) arrived from L.A. in a Ryder truck, with all her worldly possessions and without knowing a single person in Indy, determined to find her Victorian Dream 贵州11选5网上投注.

After a succession of pharma company restructures, and overall economic downturn, Browne dabbled in a number of vocations and entrepreneurial endeavors, but none fill her heart and fuel her passion like research, history, heritage and preservation. She finds connection in all people, places and things and possesses an infectious ‘joie de vivre’ when in her element. She typically takes steps two at a time, rarely carries an umbrella (rain, schmain—it’s just water) and is undoubtedly the gal in the car next to you singing her heart out (obvious stares be damned). She brakes for squirrels, flea markets and fresh-brewed tea; loves music: from Julie Andrews to Jay-Z (though Jellyfish is her fave); comedy: from Bob Newhart to Chris Rock; and activities: from rock climbing walls to embroidering tea towels. She has walked on 1200+ degree hot coals at two Tony Robbins’ events and liked skydiving better than she expected.

Tiffany’s three credos: “May I leave my corner of the world better than I found it,” “Do unto others…” and “Where there’s a will, there’s a way.”

Browne belongs to the Caroline Scott Harrison Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Society of Indiana Pioneers, Mayflower Society and Portfolio Club. She was a founding member and president of the Hoosier Chapter of the Victorian Society in America.

Since moving to Indianapolis, Tiffany served as neighborhood association president and historian of Herron-Morton Place, as well as co-editor of the Herron-Morton Times.

She graduated from the , Class XXXIX under the mentorship of Judge Sarah Evans Barker and at the end of 2015 concluded a two year stint Project Managing the “Choose Indy” committee of . She is happily married to her best friend and dream man and is mom to two teacup Pomeranians, @2blackpoms, Renzo and Carlo.

Learned something new? Question answered? New connection made? Generally inspired or entertained? Love Indy more?
